PBB: cooked well done?

Posted by atty_magman in Something Classy

so we all know that PBB ended a couple of days ago. and we all know who won. right? you don’t? good for  you, you have a life!

i am not really a big fan of PBB. i only watch it when i have a chance. and when there is a task ordered by Big Brother that requires shedding some clothes. but somehow i watched the last few episodes of the third season who had just concluded last Saturday.

Melai of GenSan won. congrats to her. but many believe that the real winner is the Cebuano rich kid Paul Jake Castillo, and that Melai’s victory was all but a sham. hmm….

they believe that ABS-CBN, the network that holds the Big Brother franchise, really wanted Melai to win, for she is more “bankable” than Paul Jake. they also believe that the network planned this all too well: since Paul Jake got the highest percentage of text votes compared to the loud and kooky girl of General Santos City, they had to come up with something to pull down the votes. Here are their evidences.

Exhibit A:

last Friday, Boy Abunda visited the five remaining housemates for some one-on-one talk. it seems that Paul Jake got the hottest, most personal and most controversial questions. – not to mention most of the questions are not really PBB related.  these questions, they say, were some sort of psychological warfare to make PJ a bad image to the public.

Exhibit B:

the mysteriously fast catch-up of Melai in getting the highest percentage of votes. this is very debatable since anything can happen in one day. but i guess it is really impossible, too, to get ahead that fast and that big.

here is a screenshot of the partial tally that was shown last Tuesday

and here are the fnal results of the voting tally:

“The time for the announcement of the Big Winner has come! And the results? Well, here go: Melai won as the Big Winner with 32.08%, followed comparatively by Paul Jake with a 27.31%; Jason and Johan came in third and fourth with 24.97% and 7.94% respectively while Tibo landed as the very first Fifth Big Placer with a 7.69%!”

Exhibit C:

the rejected Paul Jake text votes even it was entered before the deadline.

“Call me jologs, but I voted for Paul Jake at the start of the Big Night (about 6 times), but I was surprised to receive the confirmation message AFTER the program. And what’s more surprising is that my votes were not counted, closed na raw ang voting. I would love to show you pictures of my iPhone with my text votes and confirmation messages but I don’t know how to go about taking picture of the phone and pasting them here. Eeeeeepppp!”

after seeing these pics and after reading the reviews, one can really think hard if this game is true to itself, ot not.

for the record, i am not against Melai, neither did i root fervently for anyone, including my own kababayan, Tibo. but if these evidences are all true, you could not help but sigh that, indeed, politics run in everything and not just in government.

Gensan Gazer Magazine – Cool in General

Posted by atty_magman in Sell Out

hello frenemies!

i’m back. and no, i do not have any post Valentine’s day entry for thirty reasons.

well, if you are that persistent, i just went out to have coffee with my brother and listened to him while he blabbers away about his lost youth and post marital/judicial/custodial predicaments. yeah, quarter life crisis can be a pain in the ass. JUST JOKING. hihi.

but here is something you and i can look forward to: the KALILANGAN FESTIVAL of General Santos City

Kalilangan Festival is one of the most highly anticipated festivals around Mindanao. It happens every February in the city where Ethel Booba, Manny Pacquiao, Gerald Anderson, and Melai come from. sweet. expect to see colorful street dancing, beauties, hunks, and perhaps, loads of tuna.

for you to know more of the Kalilangan Festival, pick up the very first issue of Gensan Gazer Magazine, yet another GenSan’s brilliant product. There you will find schedules and facts of this wonderful festivity, and then some other issues to ponder. Best thing: it’s for free. All you need to do is to be in GenSan. hehe

but if you can’t be around GenSan in 5 minutes, just click on the image to view the e-magazine. It’s for free, too. :-)

thanks, Ganda Ever So Much!
