i heart piano man!

Posted by atty_magman in Sell Out

every once in a while i admire Asian looking men. i don’t know but guys with chinky eyes do not really hit me that hard. the picture below may  find me a reason?

no. no. no. no.

no. no. no. no.

except for some few exceptions. and, if you have been following my blog, you will know by heart who are the exceptions (wink wink).

and yet here is another addition to my exclusive chinky fascination:  Yoonha Hwang or also known as Piano Man!

i assumed immediately that he is Korean, which is unusual for me, since i draw to Japanese guys more than Koreans. but moving on …

according to this site,  he is 23 years old, and a music student of Yonsei University.

he plays the piano so well, i automatically like him! i envy those who can play the piano really well!

i hope this guy will pay a visit to the Philippines, and play for us. hehehe

here is his piano cover of Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance:

make your soul (and your sole) happy!

Posted by atty_magman in Sell Out

if happiness, as they say, is food for the soul, then a pair of nifty Havaianas is food for the sole.

from sirearevalo.com

and if you are going to let the world know how happy you are, you might just find yourself sooner in Brazil.

Havaianas Happy Soles

yes, Brazil Baby. land of beautiful beaches, beautiful people, the home of the 2016 Summer Olympics and, of course, Akihiro Sato.

because. you. just. might. be. that. lucky.

because. you. just. might. be. that. lucky.

you can now have the chance of going there with an all expense paid trip of a lifetime, plus you can tag along three of your frenemies! have the chance to visit the very famous art-deco statue Christ the Redeemer, stroll along the white sand beaches of Rio de Janeiro, visit the bustling city of Sao Paulo and hunt for a Brapanese when you can and ask him/her out on a date (okay the last one is really up to you but i would do it if i could). plus, you will get to visit the Havaianas Concept store (because, duh, Havaianas originally comes from Brazil, ya know?) and get other exciting prices from Sony, David and Goliath, and Aloha Board Sports.

so what you really have to do? simply create a video of yourself stating the answer to this question:
if anything was possible, what would you do to make the world happy for a day?

wow, parang miss universe lang.

you can then upload it, record it using your webcam, or you can directly go record your video in a roving booth which will visit 8 key cities around Philippines! here is the schedule of the roving video booth:

February 8 to 14: SM City Lipa Batangas

February 18 to 28: Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City

March 8 to 14: Ayala Center Cebu

March 22 to 28: Limketkai Mall Cagayan De Oro

April 1 to 3: Station 1, Boracay Island, Aklan (roving video crew, instead of a booth)

April 5 to 11: Gaisano Mall of Davao

April 19 to 25: Robinson’s Place Bacolod

April 30 to May 2: TriNoma Mall, Quezon City

videos will then be judged and shortlisted by travel blogger Anton Diaz, Preview Magazine editor-in-chief Paula Suaco-Juan, capoeira master Professor Fantasma, a Brazilian Embassy representative, Havaianas Philippines managing director.

the ten shortlisted contestants will be featured in the Havaianas Philippines website and it’s up to the site vistors who they want to win!

if it’s not for the rotating blackout, i would not miss a single daily dose of my current primetime favorites: ABS-CBN’s remake of the popular Mexican telenovela Rubi, and the first ever “kantaserye” in the history of Solar System Television, Diva.

RUBI

i remember back then that Rubi was a hit. but even back then, i was not really paying attention to that said telenovela from Mexico (prolly because i was not into ABS-CBN much before or that i already have a life back then lol). but the remake really made check the clock and see if it is already on the TV.

hands down, Angelica  fits the role. although it would have been better (or not) if they slated Angel Locsin to play the role of the conniving and ruthless gold digger. but Angelica is a safe choice and a good ingenue nevertheless. also starring are Shaina Magdayao, Diether Ocampo, Jake Cuenca, and Ms. Cherie Gil among others…

DIVA

as for GMA-7, i also like their newest offering. a breath of fresh air

the first “Kantaserye” (it sounds really funny, sorry), Diva is a story of three singers with different personalities: The Wannabe (played by Rufa Mae), The Rival (played by Glaiza de Castro), and The Anything But…. (played by Regine Velasquez).

never really a big fan of Regine, but I find this series really promising. plus Rufa Mae. yeesss….

also starring are TJ Trinidad, Buboy Garuvilyo(spelling?), Mark Anthony Fernandez, Jaya, and Ms. Gloria Diaz among others.

now these two are worth watching. so stop the network wars crap and support Philippine Television instead! :-P

Maricar Reyes - actress, commercial model, and ‘accidental pornstar’ - appears on the cover of Preview Magazine for

the so called “Hayden Cam Scandal”, didn’t really affect her and her career. in fact, she is one visible actress, jumping from one tv series to the other and guesting on shows such as Banana Split. although she is really present, she is keeping her cool and staying mum on the issue that made her a household name and a viral internet video sensation.

catch her on the cover of Preview on a floral print apt for the summer! Grab one now!

Creative Writing Workshop in Davao

Posted by atty_magman in Sell Out

hello frenemies!

i am going to admit, i am not the most creative person when it comes to writing. in fact, i am not really creative at all when it comes to writing.  most of the time it takes me around half a day just to make a post. because one, i do not know where to start. two, i keep on checking my grammar and spelling (which i always end up overlooking). and three, i want to make sure if my post is understandable enough.

but this one might help me in improving what i do most of the time. :-)

Davao Bloggers are going to hold a creative writing workshop on March 27 (that’s a Saturday) at the Training Rooms of PLDT Davao, along Potenciano Ponciano Street, Davao City, from 8 in the morning til 5 in the afternoon and, as for me, the training never stops (can we do nightlife after?). Their speaker will be Mister Rene Lizada, a columnist of Sunstar.

you can join even if you are not a blogger, because the aim of this event is “to improve our writing skills and develop a better understanding of our hobby/work.”

now that is something i look forward to. Davao is just a bus ride away from CDO (so ok, a long bus ride but what the hey). and if ever, it is my first time to be on the Southside of Mindanao. whopee!

if you wanna go and take a ride with me (we three wheelin in the fo with the gold D’s). seriously, i am going to kill my dog Krista just to attend (no, not seriously). but anyways i wanna join, are you?

this event is powered by:

Councilor Louie John  Bungayan Bonguyan…

thanks for the info, Ria Jose and the Davao Bloggers! if you are interested click this link!

i admire Mylene Dizon way back Gimik days. i followed this series back then and i was still in grade school. Mylene was just starting her career then, being paired with Bojo Molina (who?) as her love interest.

even then she is good with acting. but she got the whole Philippines with her acting as a kontrabida in a teleserye back then, kicking the butt of lead Claudine Barretto (sorry i forgot the title). and even more when she portrayed the role of a Filipina during World War II in “Gatas sa Dibdib ng Kaaway”. she was truly remarkable in that movie and until now, her acting skills are still in demand.

and she is one of the most outspoken celebrities out there.

that is why she truly deserves a spot on the cover of Rogue Magazine for this year’s Cinema Issue.

also included in this issue is an exclusive interview with Stephen Daldry (The Hours), Brillante Mendoza behind the camera, an article by Jose Javier Reyes about The Philippine Showbiz industry, and much more.

Rogue Magazine’s Cinema Issue will be out this March on your favorite local bookstores and magazine stands.

this, month FHM will celebrate it’s 10th year anniversary by presenting you the thickest issue ever of the said local men’s magazine, spearheaded by two of the hottest hitads on the land today: Iwa Moto and Bangs Garcia.

fhm-march-2010-philippines-iwa-moto

it was first stated that Angel Locsin will appear on the cover for the special edition but somehow backed out for unknown reasons.

this issue includes 25  hottest women that defined FHM Philippines, 21 FHM heroes, 10 new shoots of potential sizzlers, and of course, what is a celebration without any freebies.

so don’t forget to grab one! i’ll be taking an Iwa. or both. idk. perhaps an Akihiro.

thanks, seph!

please check the schedule of the rotating blackout in our city, just so you know (and which primetime dramas you can’t watch)

Posted by atty_magman in Sell Out

i did not go to the event for the reason i couldn’t leave the house alone. but thankfully my friend Rosanna and Macky gave me photos.

last Saturday, it was the PBB Big Night, the final episode of the third installment of the very popular reality show. and they sent in some crews to put up a stage in Kiosko Kagawasan, Plaza Divisoria for the local feed of the show. this was to gather all the fans and supporters of Gibo Jumalon, a Kagay-anon and one of the five finalists.

to the dismay of the Kagay-anons, Tibo came in 4th place (or was it big 5th placer or something). but whatever, it was a party, and i wasn’t there.

Gensan Gazer Magazine - Cool in General

Posted by atty_magman in Sell Out

hello frenemies!

i’m back. and no, i do not have any post Valentine’s day entry for thirty reasons.

well, if you are that persistent, i just went out to have coffee with my brother and listened to him while he blabbers away about his lost youth and post marital/judicial/custodial predicaments. yeah, quarter life crisis can be a pain in the ass. JUST JOKING. hihi.

but here is something you and i can look forward to: the KALILANGAN FESTIVAL of General Santos City

Kalilangan Festival is one of the most highly anticipated festivals around Mindanao. It happens every February in the city where Ethel Booba, Manny Pacquiao, Gerald Anderson, and Melai come from. sweet. expect to see colorful street dancing, beauties, hunks, and perhaps, loads of tuna.

for you to know more of the Kalilangan Festival, pick up the very first issue of Gensan Gazer Magazine, yet another GenSan’s brilliant product. There you will find schedules and facts of this wonderful festivity, and then some other issues to ponder. Best thing: it’s for free. All you need to do is to be in GenSan. hehe

but if you can’t be around GenSan in 5 minutes, just click on the image to view the e-magazine. It’s for free, too. :-)

thanks, Ganda Ever So Much!
