“Mayweather Remains Silent, Pacquiao Will Fight Cotto or Margarito”

As the deadline set by Top Rank big boss Bob Arum winded down and no communication Floyd Mayweather whatsoever, Arum said he is ready to move on and pit Manny Pacquiao with either Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito.  Arum said that there are several reasons why Mayweather refused to fight Pacquiao, but highly renowned boxing promoter said that perhaps it is the current legal situation Mayweather’s trainer/uncle Roger is facing.

Among the two replacements, a Cotto fight has the high chances of happening as there are attractive variables that are involved in such mix. For one, Cotto’s WBA middleweight title on the line, which would present an opportunity for Pacquiao to extend his record to eight titles in eight different weight classes should he win. Arum also added that Cotto is now training under the guidance of one of the top trainers of the sport, Emmanuel Steward. With an expert boxing coach at his corner, Cotto is expected to be better now than the last time he fought Pacquiao.

Although Arum still plans to have Margarito face Pacquiao, there are several instances that might impede the fight such as the marketability of the disgraced Mexican boxer. The possible venue of the fight will also be a problem as Margarito is still not allowed

to fight in the United States. Arum said that if Pacquiao-Margarito happens, it is likely to take place in the Monterrey, Mexico.

Many fighters are also mentioned in the Pacquiao sweepstakes, including light middleweight contender Paul Williams. However, Arum said that while some of the other fighters mentioned are good boxers, they are not lucrative and will not generate the revenue of the same or near the magnitude of a Pacquiao-Cotto or Pacquiao-Margarito showdown.

and how will i forget Miss Donna Congson’s PIYESTA  KTV and RESTOBAR! at night time, PIYESTA rules General Santos City’s nightlife! and if you wonder why, just try their Jello Shots in syringes. yes in syringes! also try their Kura Sticks and their Tuna Buntot (i am not quite sure of the name but as they say, you don’t spell it, you eat it! and it is yummeh!!!)

thank you to Dolores Farm Resort in Momolopok, South Cotabato for starting MFAT and SOCCSKSARGEN SUMMER SAFARI Day 2 right! the Tilapia and Chips is awesome! the place is simply cool with a nice view and the mini zoo is fun.

the visit at Punta Isla Lake Resort in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato is definitely one enriching experience. it fulfilled my dream to see a real T’boli tribe. that and to finally visit Lake Sebu, sans the water lilies though. and to top it all off, the bisayang manok dish is superb. donations, please!

we also visit Sa Balai Bistro in Marbel, South Cotabato, where we refreshed ourselves with Mulberry Tea, Pandan Shake, and genuinely brewed coffee. the ambience, as well, is winner! feel mo Donya ka. hehe

arrived in Davao past 12.

a little tragedy happened: an oil spill occured at the back of the van. two containers of Mamsue’s Spanish Sardines cracked and the oil leaked along the area. so sorry sa nangyari..

but back to Ranchero in Davao. we had a little getting to know with the Davao Bloggers and ate a very sumptuos lunch full of seafoods. but since i cannot digest seafoods (except for fish), and unless i want to carry a “Hitch” face during the rest of the trip, i did stick with the meat.

Cebu Blog Camp 2010 is an event organized by a group of Cebu Bloggers.

but now i do not have to go back there just to have a taste of heavenly sin (charut). for Missy Bon Bon offers you the best gelato in town and some other fresh, natural, and healthy goodies.

me and my fellow CDO Bloggers were invited by the owner of Missy Bon Bon, Sir Henrik Yu, to have breakfast a the said establishment. i did not hesitate to say no, because i am already a big fan long before they put up a bigger and more comfortable place in a more strategic location. i was a constant customer whenever i pass by their kiosk in the 2nd level of Big R. the gelato are simply tempting.

apparently, i am not the only one who thinks they have best gelato in town. just look at this photo of their store opening: people are already lined up. i think this is a first here in CDO (if i am not mistaken)

and now that they have more goodies to offer i did sample a breakfast meal. i ordered a chicken sausage breakfast meal (is it correct?) i truly love it.

the spot i love the most about this place is this sunny corner right here.. i just love how bright it can get but it wont hurt you. plus i love the cozy, French-y feel of this place. it feels like i am in some street bistro in some French Town.. like Aquitaine!

i got the chance to talk to Sir Henrik and i am surprised that the food and pastries they serve here are all natural, fresh and healthy. bottom line – you are guilt-free in this place. also, he mentioned about how he supports the local products. for example, they use coffee products that are produced by the monks in Bukidnon (Monk’s Blend -  popularized by designer turned monk Gang Gomez – i remember now).

so many flavors to choose from. but my favorite ever is the blueberry cheesecake (top left. i know you can’t see it clearly, paubos na) then i was told the the blueberry cheesecake is their best seller. another favorite of mine is the tiramisu. (no pictures for that – sorry)

over-all my breakfast at Missy Bon Bon was a delight and i would definitely go back there for more of their food and most especially more of their best gelato. hey, already a fan! go and visit Missy Bon Bon Breadshop located at the corner of Rosario Drive, LimKetKai Center, Cagayan de Oro City (atbang sa McDonald’s Ketkai, layu ra sa Bugo). or vist Missy Bon Bon website

so here is my 10 peso bill..

i was there the whole time but i did not utter a word because i did not want to. i just did not want to. hehe.

but indeed Max’s Restaurant here in CDO is a failure when it comes to their customer service and not even their good food could spare it.

a fellow blogger of News and Government Issues wrote an entry about it.

a scene not so usual in today's world

Well, supposed to be, I will not make a post regarding this restaurant because in the first place they have international branches but I think all restaurant services have weaknesses. I admit that the food of MAX’s Restaurant tastes good because they have lots of customers who eat in their restaurant particularly during Holidays and Occasions.

This is my first time to write a negative feedback about a restaurant. Why write a negative feed back to this Max’s restaurant in Cagayan de Oro? This is what happened…

Last Sunday April 18, 2010 CDO BLOGGERS used their function room for the SEO Mini Forum event and the cost of the function room is 2500 pesos and that was consumable. The function room of Max’s Restaurant Cagayan de Oro doesn’t have, or did not provide, any equipment we could use except for the speaker box and microphone whichCDO BLOGGERS did not use. Since the event is a Mini Forum, we needed a projector for the presentations which the group provided for their own. When one of Max’s Restaurant Cagayan de Oro personnel saw that the group was using a projector they informed us that they will charge 500 pesos for using the projector where in fact the projector is not theirs! The group just agreed so that we could push thru with the event but in our minds we needed to argue with it.

While the event was ongoing the participants ordered food.

After the event we asked the waiter for our bill in function room only (not including the projector charge), the bill was only 2,258 pesos and we need to order additional food so that we will reach 2,500 pesos as the worth of the function room.

After paying the 2,500 pesos, officers of CDO BLOGGERS argued with them that they should not give us a charge for the projector because in the first place the projector is owned by the group and not Max’s and aside from that they didn’t give some info regarding this matter during reservation the previous day. We use our own materials and they will charge us? According to one staff of Max’s Restaurant Cagayan de Oro SUCKS, it’s our fault because we did not inform them that we will be using a projector. The worst thing during the argumentation was that the supervisor or I think their BULLSH!T area manager did not go between to settle the problem instead he or she (shamale actually) was just stuck in the office! Shemale only gave us a calling card (BULLSH!T AREA MANAGER). What the heck are we gonna do with this calling card..?? Because we wanted to leave early, we decided to pay the bill which is a total of 2,800 pesos including the charge of the projector. Another worst thing that happened was that, when we asked them for an Official Receipt it took almost an HOUR to give as a receipt! I thinkMax’s Restaurant Cagayan de Oro SUCKS has something wrong with their system, don’t you think?? I don’t think it would take an hour or so to get a receipt because their system is computerized or I think there is something wrong with the management or there is malicious thing happening inside this Max’s Restaurant SUCKS. In short guys, the problem with this restaurant is the way they handle their costumers and I think the management of this restaurant need some seminar on how to provide a good costumer service.

Let me ask you guys, whose fault is this? the group who used the function room that did not inform the management that they will use a projector, and bring their own for that matter, or the management that should have informed, US, their costumers regarding the rules of their function room?? What I can say?? Max’s Restaurant Cagayan de Oro SUCKS..!!!!

after the said blunt exposure, this has called the attention of Max’s Group of Companies. and they are not happy about it. so Chiq Montes, the president of the CDO Bloggers was called by the shemale area manager and here is their intimate conversation:

Philip: It only took an hour to give the OR because your group computed the total bill manually. It was not because we wanted to hide something.

ChiQ: The only reason why we had to do that because we were first given a 2, 258 bill so we had to order some more so we can reach the consumable amount of 2500 but later on we were informed that we still had 3 unsettled receipts. Thus the bill amounted to 2800 something. This gave us an impression that your billing system was inefficient and well.. confusing.. how hard was it to give us the total amount anyway when in fact the system is computerized?

PROJECTOR ISSUE:

Philip: We do charge our customers for using a projector for 500 pesos.

ChiQ: How come I was informed that other groups were not charged for using a projector?

Philip: Some groups have become our regular customers so we are willing to waive the 500 pesos charge for projector and add it to the consumable amount of the function room.

ChiQ: I was not informed that Max’s will charge for the usage of the projector that isn’t yours in the first place. Is this a new policy?

Philip: You were informed during your reservation to us..

ChiQ: No we only talked about the food and that I wanted it on a pay per order basis. We did not discuss about the projector. If I would have known, it wouldn’t have come as a shock to me.

here is my ten peso bill:

in order for a business to grow, the establishment people should take care of most of the burden that the customer should not carry. these people pay you to a certain amount for services.

now it’s never our side’s fault  when we did not tell you that we are going to bring a projector: IT’S YOUR TASK TO ASK SUCH. we paid for a function room therefore you should expect to bring some devices for it.

and what is kaloka ever so much? instead of mediating, the area manager shemale just gave us a card and did not even bother to help out his people in solving the problem. talk about effective management.

so what is that card? a sort of challenge? ah well, if it is so, then you got served. cold.

that was my first time in Max’s. and definitely my last. vavooh!
