Wanted: Perfect Lover

Posted by atty_magman in Panawagan

hindi para sa akin ha, kundi para sa ever gandang friend ko si Orman.

kumakailan lang kasi ng mid-life crisis strikes back siya, kaya he is so sad nowadays, nomatter how he seems to be happy on his blog posts, na nagpapa blogoversary pa. kaya maghahanap kami ng madedate niya. ok naman ang friend ko kasi he is one of the nicest guys in Mindanao, kaya di siya nakakalimutan ni Lord na ulanan bagyuhan ng blessings..

pero eto ang aming requirements:

1.) ayaw namin ng manloloko – please do not attempt na saktan siya verbally, physically, and/or mentally, at kabuohan ng Mindanao ang magiging kaaway mo. kumakailan may pinatay na witness ni Ampatuan, baka gusto mong sumunod?

2.) malapit sa kung saan siya – dapat 10 – 15 miles radius ang layo mo from GenSan para dali kang mavisit or dali mo siyang mavisit.

3.) mapag-aruga – di na kailangan na chimini-ahah type, just be there for my friend ayus na.

addendum

nakalimutan kong sabihin na dapat gwapo at maganda ang pangangatawan. asking too much ba? not likely. pakiresearch mo nalang mga exes niya.

so ayan apply na kayo by clicking on this link.

pakidalian na lang ha? challenging ang magiging karibal mo….

we, CDO Bloggers, were welcomed in Davao by the Avatar Media and by Ranchero Grill – Davao, where I tasted so far the best baby backs since Trapper’s Smokehouse (and yes, that was really a long time ago!). thank you for putting my taste buds to hyper mode again. definitely one of the balik-balikan places in Davao!

i would also like to thank Ice Castle Experience! nice room, nice amenities! can’t wait for it to finally see its final look! keep it up, Sir Rey!

thank you to Le Jardin Arnevels! your awesome food that has home-cooked feel is as inspiring as the story behind your success! you definitely have come a long way. keep the success up and keep inspiring others with it! by the way, i love the kinilaw!

and how will i forget Miss Donna Congson’s PIYESTA  KTV and RESTOBAR! at night time, PIYESTA rules General Santos City’s nightlife! and if you wonder why, just try their Jello Shots in syringes. yes in syringes! also try their Kura Sticks and their Tuna Buntot (i am not quite sure of the name but as they say, you don’t spell it, you eat it! and it is yummeh!!!)

thank you to Dolores Farm Resort in Momolopok, South Cotabato for starting MFAT and SOCCSKSARGEN SUMMER SAFARI Day 2 right! the Tilapia and Chips is awesome! the place is simply cool with a nice view and the mini zoo is fun.

the visit at Punta Isla Lake Resort in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato is definitely one enriching experience. it fulfilled my dream to see a real T’boli tribe. that and to finally visit Lake Sebu, sans the water lilies though. and to top it all off, the bisayang manok dish is superb. donations, please!

we also visit Sa Balai Bistro in Marbel, South Cotabato, where we refreshed ourselves with Mulberry Tea, Pandan Shake, and genuinely brewed coffee. the ambience, as well, is winner! feel mo Donya ka. hehe

Ice Castle Experience

Posted by atty_magman in Hello Life!

a super duper thanks to Sir Rey Billena.

during the Mindanao Food Appreciation – SOCCSKSARGEN Summer Safari briefing we had, we were told we are going to stay at Ice Castle Experience. at the back of my mind were two things: a theme park in a place where no one can find, and this movie scene and this music:

but then again what i think is always not the case. lol

Ice Castle Experience is a hotel that is soon-to-be open in public, and we were the few lucky people who were accommodated there for a night or two. though it is not yet completely finished, the interiors are already polished and i must say, well done!

*click photos to enlarge. don’t hover it much or it might spit*

the facade of the building is not yet done but from the looks of it, it resembles a castle. duh, magman, ice castle nga eh.

the owner, Rey Billena, stated that this hotel is the result of hardwork and diligence, being an ice cream salesman for starter. wow, so i can definitely make my own condotel out of my being a… uhm…  lingerie model… anyways…

the hallway that leads you to the rooms. look at the ceiling naman.. cool, di ba?

single de luxe room. every room has its unique colors and artwork, resembling ice cream flavors. this one is mango room.

double de luxe room aka bubble gum flavor room.

the presidential suite aka vanilla orange flavor room. yum. it is so big it can fit a family of 4-5 and you can play patintero inside.. kidding. :-)

my favorite spot in the hotel, the Oval.

i repeat, this hotel is not yet open to public, but it will be real soon. and also by then you will enjoy not just a comfortable stay in General Santos City, but also a rejuvenating spa, so you wont have to go somewhere else for a massage.

and at least now i know where to stay at GenSan when i visit there… ;-)

omg.. how i spend my day

if not for the weekend…

thanks ateng sai for the pic!

meet with Davao Bloggers and lunch in Ranchero Grill

arrived in Davao past 12.

a little tragedy happened: an oil spill occured at the back of the van. two containers of Mamsue’s Spanish Sardines cracked and the oil leaked along the area. so sorry sa nangyari..

but back to Ranchero in Davao. we had a little getting to know with the Davao Bloggers and ate a very sumptuos lunch full of seafoods. but since i cannot digest seafoods (except for fish), and unless i want to carry a “Hitch” face during the rest of the trip, i did stick with the meat.

here are some pics of the food we ate (courtesy of Chiq Montes)

kinilaw is yummy!

i think this is sinuglaw

this is my favorite Ranchero dish: the baby back ribs! super likey i had the whole dish… kiber ko sa iba magpakalasing sila sa seafood, basta ako, the baby is mine!

di ko to natikman… masyado na akong focused sa baby.

tinikman ko to since i am a big fan of bangus. but after nang natikman ko tong sinigang na bangus na may hint of shrimp, i ate the fish and set the soup aside. yummy ang fish ha?

kiver

and this garlic chicken is yummy too!!!

don’t worry about Ding. happy yan deep inside.

nagfefeeling socialite with this fruit juices *i remember, the waiter is nanginginig na because hindi tinantanan sa pagkuha ng pic. lolz*

yummy fruits for dessert!

after an hour or so, we had no choice but to leave Davao. yes, it was my first time in Davao and we had to leave soon for General Santos. oh well, more to come!

Davao – CDO Bloggers: one or two punds heavier each.

so if you are in Davao City, i highly recommend Ranchero Grill. it’s located in Tionko corner Arellano Streets, near Bagko Sentral. telephon numbers 225-1199  or 226-8679 and you can visit Ranchero Grill’s Facebook Page. and yes, thank you Ranchero for the lunch!

next stop – GENERAL SANTOS CITY!

so my closet is turning one this month. yehey!

so let’s make a little contest shall we?

uhm, what could be a better way to celebrate a birthday of all sorts than singing your hearts out in a videoke bar. right? RIGHT? amineeen, gawain mo yan kahit walang celebration.

no, i am not going to hold a singing contest. 2012 is not really that far and by letting everyone sing will make powers-that-be decide to move it to an earlier year *gulp*

this contest is called “give me a song”

below is a picture of me, about to slash a wrist for being too emo.. thanks queen mafia miah for the pic…

now all you have to do is to suggest what line of a song is best to put below the picture and make tabon my “beltbag”

this is a month long contest so you can send as many entries as you want (write it on the comments section okies?)

and prizes will be announced later. hehe

so get that songbook and start sending entries now na..

on our way to Davao.
photos courtesy of Chiq Montes

and also a big thanks to Carl who took us from CDO to Davao safe.

the grueling 8 hour ride from the City of Golden Friendshipness to the City of… er…. Eagles and Durian (?) was not really a boring haul because of the scenery you will see. and i was awake for most of the  trip because it was my first time to travel south of this island.

man i was pretty amazed with what i saw.

but first we had a little stopover in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, for breakfast.

me and Robs in our best morning faces.

ok so i am not really awake that time.

then something happened while on our way to Davao. as we reached BuDa (Bukidnon-Davao boundary) one of the tires of the vehicle popped and went flat so we had no choice but to fix it. but i never did complain because of again, the scenery entertained our eyes so we took pictures as we wait for it to be fixed.

i have never been to that place so i got amazed by how American outskirt-ish it looks like.

CDO Bloggers’ firing squad pose.

not sure what Goma intended to portray but played along anyway.

plants for sale along the highway… this is good to defend us against zombies.

Chiq nomnoming on grilled bananas (ginanggang) as Robs is waiting for his order.

moy moy moy moy moy

hiked for almost an hour to reach this place only to find out that the car is fixed and it’s on its way to fetch us..

it looks pretty cool and cozy!

oh, there it is..

continue with the regular programming.

PART 2: Davao Bloggers meet-up in Ranchero (my auto favorite restaurant in Davao)..

see yah later!

empire state of alicia

Posted by atty_magman in Hello Life!

this song was played a couple of times during our road trip to Davao last Saturday. and i instantly fell in love with it.

the song was better without the rap indeed. and i am not just saying that because i am not big fan of hip hop. it is really better without Jay-Z dominating the whole 3 plus minutes of the song.

and it also kind of reminded me when i was in New York for a short trip. man, seeing those famous buildings can really stir up your old and bored mind. so there, Alicia is kind of explaining what i was thinking that time – and i am not a native New Yorker.

if you have 3 minutes and 38 seconds of idle time as of the moment, please do listen to the song. hehe

enjoy!
