i always wonder why Willie, amidst the attitude he is showing to the world, can still get away with everything unscathed. in fact, he is still one of the most visible personalities in this country, even though he does not do anything but to run that freak show. is there something that the public does not know?

ABS what’s stopping you? fire him and take that show off air. you do not have to invest on a show that is run by a ruthless, shameless, and arrogant maniac and is also run out of people’s desperate status in life. it is time to show people how to get up on their own and not depend on a noon time show. teaching poor people how to fish the right  way is what real Filipino service should be all about, and not capitalizing on their desperation.

i remember back in 2006 i used to frequent this  small gelato ice cream place in a small French Quarter called Aquitaine, inside the Busch Garden Theme Park in Virginia, where i interned. i sooo love their praline cream and butter pecan. sometimes, mega wish ako kung kelan ako makakatikim uli. anyways here’s a picture of me and my good ol friend Jona (miss you so) enjoying a humongous cone-full of carbs.

but now i do not have to go back there just to have a taste of heavenly sin (charut). for Missy Bon Bon offers you the best gelato in town and some other fresh, natural, and healthy goodies.

me and my fellow CDO Bloggers were invited by the owner of Missy Bon Bon, Sir Henrik Yu, to have breakfast a the said establishment. i did not hesitate to say no, because i am already a big fan long before they put up a bigger and more comfortable place in a more strategic location. i was a constant customer whenever i pass by their kiosk in the 2nd level of Big R. the gelato are simply tempting.

apparently, i am not the only one who thinks they have best gelato in town. just look at this photo of their store opening: people are already lined up. i think this is a first here in CDO (if i am not mistaken)

and now that they have more goodies to offer i did sample a breakfast meal. i ordered a chicken sausage breakfast meal (is it correct?) i truly love it.

the spot i love the most about this place is this sunny corner right here.. i just love how bright it can get but it wont hurt you. plus i love the cozy, French-y feel of this place. it feels like i am in some street bistro in some French Town.. like Aquitaine!

i got the chance to talk to Sir Henrik and i am surprised that the food and pastries they serve here are all natural, fresh and healthy. bottom line – you are guilt-free in this place. also, he mentioned about how he supports the local products. for example, they use coffee products that are produced by the monks in Bukidnon (Monk’s Blend -  popularized by designer turned monk Gang Gomez – i remember now).

the best: gelato department! lolz

so many flavors to choose from. but my favorite ever is the blueberry cheesecake (top left. i know you can’t see it clearly, paubos na) then i was told the the blueberry cheesecake is their best seller. another favorite of mine is the tiramisu. (no pictures for that – sorry)

over-all my breakfast at Missy Bon Bon was a delight and i would definitely go back there for more of their food and most especially more of their best gelato. hey, already a fan! go and visit Missy Bon Bon Breadshop located at the corner of Rosario Drive, LimKetKai Center, Cagayan de Oro City (atbang sa McDonald’s Ketkai, layu ra sa Bugo). or vist Missy Bon Bon website

last weekend we went to Tilt because i missed the place.

i missed the crowd of well dressed people and the not so well dressed.

and since there is no other party venue here in CDO that serves toogsh toogsh music, it is safe to say that it is the best club around. hehe

anyways, at first medyo hesitant pa kami to make enter the dragon because la masyado people. baka nag out of town ang karamihan kasi we are sosyal just like that. but we actually did enter and my gas, PBA superstars are there pala, nagaantay sa amin. lolz.

but indeed Max’s Restaurant here in CDO is a failure when it comes to their customer service and not even their good food could spare it.

frenemies, eowh powhz!

sensiya na i was not around here for a long time. no i did not go on a vacation (i wish) pero naging busy busyhan ang lolo niyong panot.

since the summer-long blogging activities are ongoing, di naman ako nawala.

last Saturday was our kick-off event for CDO Bloggers Summer Blogging Activities. and that was the Blogging 101 mini forum at Vienna Kaffeehaus. di ba, masaya? noh?

to top it all of i was one of the speakers. i spoke about why you must blog and how can you setup WordPress and Blogspot (yuck) for free. i am very happy how the forum went and a good turnout of the event. kaya sa mga nag attend, thank you and quiz next week.

also last Sunday was another blogging event called the SEO Mini Forum. was a greater number of attendees and it was more intimate because the topic is very much important, too.

Madonna songs are going to be sung in a Glee Episode! now how cools is that? ok, for starters, i have not watched a single episode of the hit TV show. but we will see.

it is not a secret that i am a huge Madonna fan. i grew up listening to Madonna songs. i enjoyed watching her tour concerts on DVD. i wish i can watch one of her upcoming concerts. at least once in my lifetime. or *gulp* her lifetime.

but you can enjoy listening to her songs being butchered artistically by a cast of high pitched people (like Minnie Mouse on Helium).

there has been a little debate on Rogue Magazine’s Facebook Fan Page. people were (or are still) arguing if Bea Alonzo deserved to be on the cover of the Rogue Magazine April 2010 issue. now we all know who Bea Alonzo is… unless you reside under a rock or you are a true blue Kapuso…. like me (?) iKid.

she is a beautiful mainstream fixation, but i am not a big fan of her.

why? because i do not like John Lloyd Cruz. and when I hate John Lloyd Cruz, i hate everything that is connected to him. that is why i do not take Biogesic because i feel like it wont work – because of John Lloyd. i practically hate Bench then because of John Lloyd – i hate it even more now because of Willie. now i really hate John Lloyd because i have to do the obligatory hating of Greenwich pizza chain. i think i have said too much so i digress.

since she is paired up with John Lloyd, i don’t give a damn anymore. but no doubt she’s pretty and tall. and talented as well

now she in on the cover of one of the finest magazines in our country, if not the finest. and it has been a while since a A-list mainstream (question: is there any other word for mainstream?) celebrity landed on the cover (Marian Rivera, July 2009).

some loyal followers of the magazine questioned the editorial team’s decision to feature Bea. comments like Rogue going mainstream (i am seriously starting to hate the word, pramis!), Bea should be the last, and a “WTF, not again!!!” thought.

but people may sometimes forget what Lola told us “do not judge a book by its cover.”

and again here is my 10 peso bill..

i have been a Rogue fan since September of 2007. many times have they featured very sikat na celebrities, with the likes of Angel Locsin, Anne Curtis, Rufa Mae Quinto, and Marian Rivera. so it’s basically nothing new with the publication.

what’s wrong if Rogue is going mainstream? will it put your level and standards down?will it turn you off if it’s going to reach out to ‘masa’ level (no offense meant)?

even though it has entertained the higher bracket most of the time, we must not forget that this is also a business. and for a business to survive, it needs the support of the general consumers – masa included. i do not know what methods they use in marketing but that is a very given rule.

and if still the ‘masa’ thought (again no offense meant) scares the living shit out of you, i think it wont be happening anytime soon. see, 180 pesos a pop is never easy. at least for them. at least for me (char lang). and to think that 99.01 percent is in English, with a dash of verbose on the side, most of them wont really get the message through, wont they? plus the fact that the pictures of half naked girls are never sleazy, buying it would only disappoint most of them. so, no.

i guess that’s it for now.

i can’t wait for it to arrive here. i mean i can.. but it’s like really late na (i bought a fresh March 2010 issue the day we celebrated Earth Hour). kaya please Rogue team, make it fast.
