A Yugoslavian friend of ours by the name of Shana was quite the entrepreneur. Not only did she wash cars and do detailing sometimes for customers, but she also did housecleaning and other jobs to help “pay the bills” as she called it. She did hospital coding for some doctors she knew at a local hospital. How she got to know them is beyond me. I think it might have been because of her brother in law having an eyeglass business. He was a successful business owner and hard worker as well.

Now, she had never had any training in this hospital coding work but was able to learn to do it well, nonetheless. So well that many started hearing about what good work she did and soon there was a big demand for her skills in coding. I often wonder about what happened to her as she moved away from our area when she got married, and now she has 4 kids. As to whether she’s doing any jobs like she used to, I doubt it because she has a wealthy husband now to support her and the family.
